Fluffy pancakes in Marseille, from savoury to all-out sweet
In La Valentine, beneath a ceiling of pink flowers, the pancake stack comes dressed with coulis, red berries and toppings — to enjoy here or take away.

The pancake has its flowery haven east of Marseille
Tucked away at 290 Route des 3 Lucs, in the 13011 district, Yona is the address to remember when pancakes in Marseille are on your mind. A soft, generous stack, fresh red berries on top and a ribbon of coulis running slowly down: indulgence starts with the eyes.
Here, the pancake leads a double life. It turns savoury at lunch, generously topped, then becomes dessert again in our build-your-own dessert workshop, alongside the waffle, the croffle and the French-toast brioche.
One fluffy base, a thousand ways to dress it
Savoury and generously topped
The Pancake Madame with truffle — truffle cream cheese, premium poultry ham, fried egg, rocket — or the Caesar Pancake, with rocket, grana padano, breaded chicken, Caesar sauce and a poached egg.
The coulis that suits you
Red berries, salted butter caramel, Nutella, maple syrup or pistachio cream: the gourmet ribbon poured over the stack is entirely your call.
Toppings & finishing touches
Red berries, banana, vanilla ice cream, vanilla mascarpone… then Breton shortbread, speculoos, cookie, coconut, caramelised peanuts, whipped cream or meringue.
What's the difference between a pancake, a crêpe and a blini?
They're easily mixed up, yet each has its own character: the thickness of the batter, the use of leavening and the country of origin change everything. A quick tour to better enjoy your stack at Yona.
The pancake
Thick and fluffy, it owes its rise to a batter leavened with baking powder and cooked in a pan. Born in the English-speaking world, it's enjoyed in a stack, drizzled with coulis or syrup, sweet as much as savoury.
The crêpe
Thin and supple, with no leavening, it's the great French speciality. Spread out very thinly, then folded or rolled around a filling, sweet or savoury.
The blini
A small, thick pancake made with buckwheat and baker's yeast, of Eastern European origin, the blini is most often served savoury, as an appetiser or a starter.
At Yona, the pancake takes centre stage: a fluffy base you build to your taste, from generously savoury to all-out sweet, in our flowery haven in La Valentine.
At brunch, at afternoon tea or to close the lunch set menu
Pancakes fit in anywhere in the day: as a savoury dish at the heart of a sweet-and-savoury brunch, as an afternoon treat with a chai latte or a milkshake, or as the final note of our lunch set menu, served Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays).
